Unfold Myself

Unfold Myself
by Maureen Kwiat Meshenberg

Unfold myself,
welcome the ordinary moments-
the holding of life as is,
the way it seems to be-
without hiding it,
or covering it with-
words that try to,
give it reason for being-
making rights or wrongs to it,
catching only glimpses-
of my reality,
as if peering through-
a key hole,
and then willing to open,
the door open wide-
to embrace its fullness.
with all its messes,
and the wonderings-
and the holding onto-
something so tight,
it becomes a part of the fabric-
covering who you are,
let it fall to the ground-
naked to your vulnerable self,
allowing compassion-
in that moment,
when it feels like the-
best thing to do is to,
is stay in bed-
press feet to the floor,
eyes to the sky-
feel your breath,
reach your day-
in every single ordinary,
and extraordinary way.

Happy New Year 2

I call this Ukrainian New Year a tradition of celebrating using the Georgian calendar.
