Always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder.

Look to this day!
For it is life, the very life of life.
In its brief course
Lie all the verities and realities of your existence:
The bliss of growth;
The glory of action;
The splendor of achievement;
For yesterday is but a dream,
And tomorrow is only a vision;
But today, well lived, makes every yesterday
a dream of happiness,
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.
~ Kalidasa, Indian Poet

Ripples
"Imagine throwing a little stone into a still pond and watching it ripple. Then, after a while, when the ripples settle down, perhaps you throw another little stone. That’s exactly what you do when you go into the field of pure silence and introduce your intention. In this silence, even the faintest intention will ripple across the underlying ground of universal consciousness, which connects everything with everything else. But, if you do not experience stillness in consciousness, if your mind is like a turbulent ocean, you could throw the Empire State Building into it, and you wouldn’t notice a thing."

Nature
I break through rock,
the side of my mountain-
the nature of me,
nurturing me.
roots that enter,
deep into my waters-
reaching my flowering,
to my skies within.
I thrive through,
my storms-
sometimes,
weathered and worn-
or the seasons,
take my life through-
my rebirth,
but I will not-
be unearthed,
I hold my roots deep-
in my truth,
inside me.
I open to the light,
to the nature of life-
and to those who,
nurture me,
around me.
see me grow,
breaking my ground-
rising up high-
up my climb,
surrendering to,
the nature-
of my ever growing life.

Spring has sprung
A good friend once told me that we should never make decisions based on fear of the alternative. That is to say, instead of weighing your future on the scale of security, why not choose that which frightens you a little. Like swinging on a trapeze, there is a terrible-wonderful moment when you have to let go and free-fall your way to the next grab. But the more times you find the new bar there to meet you, the stronger your trust in the unknown grows.
In our heavily constructed world it’s easy to forget that, like all living beings, we are deeply subject to the changing of seasons. We get so caught up in our local dramas that we forget to look t...

Who would of thought
Who would have thought it possible that a tiny little flower could preoccupy a person so completely that there simply wasn't room for any other thought.

the garden of my soul,

I lift my heart,
through hands releasing-
open arms wide,
to hold my sky-

naked from my despair,
naked from my disguise-

fragrant beauty-
of just me.
rose to thorn,
rain to storm,
sand to desert flower-
I have the power,
to look with eyes-
tenderly,
what wounds me-
heals me,
brings me to my flourishing.
