Heart's Calling
The Pain of Life
oh how the pain of life,
is swallowed deep inside you-
layered underneath,
covered with guilt and grief-
guilt that strangles the life,
you are living-
what drives you to hide,
while you carry it all with you inside-
pull it on out and through,
for there is the breath-
of love holding you.
what often strains us,
causes us to blame-
ourselves and others,
father, mother, friend or brother-
makes us hold onto the,
dark of our pain-
again, and again and again.
for what is given over to love,
brings us the consciousness-
of our journey,
it’s not that pain-
will never touch us,
but if blame becomes-
the label of it,
or guilt-
the reason for it,
it turns it something-
that binds us.
in our human way-
we are expected,
to be perfect-
we regain only pieces,
of what truly loves-
through us,
not good enough,
right enough,
or don’t try hard enough,
they only take us-
from who we really are.
we are all the same,
not one of us-
better than the other,
not sister, or wife, husband, or mother-
loving yourself,
brings you to see,
that grace flows with-
unconditional love,
setting you free.
