Mothers Day

I Mother

I sit with you in the dance of life

I hold you close to my heart,

Mothers...

All of you, sisters with large hearts

For none of us is childless

None of us is fruitless

Cat mamas

Gardeners--

Hope Givers

Writers and Dancers

Our branches hold her--

The Great Mother birthed us to mother

Not to give birth

But to mother

The Self

The self of others

The roots, the canopy--

Those ancient sites that know stories

Of becoming

Being

Belonging

Mothering...

Nurturing

Walking the labyrinth

Arriving at center with arms full of dreams

For a new world

Mothers never putting her babies underground

We mother...

Words

Poems

Visions of peace

Within and without

Walking the face of the Earth as who we are

Mothers mothering our mothers

Sisters sistering each other

Holding hearts

Making Souls with the essence of presence

We see each other

We mother each other

Mothering the bones of our ancient mothers

We heal, we become, we belong

We free the souls of generations to come...

They will never know the cost of unmothering

We paid the price

Doing the soul work

Forgiving, storing love in the story of life

For our children to deep their hearts in

And never know how it feels to be unmothered.
