Blessongs

I bless the night that nourished my heart
To set the ghosts of longing free
Into the flow and figure of dream
That went to harvest from the dark
Bread for the hunger no one sees.
All that is eternal in me
Welcome the wonder of this day,
The field of brightness it creates
Offering time for each thing
To arise and illuminate.
I place on the altar of dawn:
The quiet loyalty of breath,
The tent of thought where I shelter,
Wave of desire I am shore to
And all beauty drawn to the eye.
May my mind come alive today
To the invisible geography
That invites me to new frontiers,
To break the dead shell of yesterdays,
To risk being disturbed and changed.
May I have the courage today
To live the life that I would love,
To postpone my dream no longer
But do at last what I came here for
And waste my heart on fear no more.

What waits for me

 what waits for me,
in my soul-
a song that cries,
one that holds my heart close.
I do not hesitate,
with my breath to-
bring me to my tender embrace,
my arms wrap around me-
for I welcome love,
to love me-
I welcome it,
in my heart,
my mind,
my being.
for whatever tries to stir,
an ache inside-
it is grace that reminds,
me to return to forgiveness-
that is always waiting.
it is love that stirs my soul,
to its returning-
when enlightenment brings me,
to my seeing-
peeling back the remnants,
of life that hold me in-
my human failings,
all lessons learned-
brings me to awakening,
again to what holds me-
close to the light of my soul.

A Beautiful life

Falling

When I Feel Like I Am Falling From My Soul
by Maureen Kwiat Meshenberg

when I feel,
like I am falling-
from my soul,
hanging on by a strand-
I free fall,
and let go deep-
into my wondering,
it takes my breath,
as I grasp-
to reach to that place,
of be redeemed-
but it is not about,
redemption-
or the right and wrong,
of it-
the pit in my stomach,
from the ache of it-
catches me off guard,
all  that’s left is to-
hold to my dark,
but love’s light comes,
and brings me back-
not because I am perfect,
or because I followed-
the right steps,
I just reach up-
and open up enough,
to let what is true-
flow through me,
love saves me-
when I feel abandoned,
confused,
defused,
alone…
brings me and cradles me,
in arms of wholeness-
back to my soul,
back home.
